Flesh and Blood

PAGE ONE (5 Panels)

Panel 1. Tight shot of a large vaguely human shaped robot. The robot is bulky and industrial looking, lots of hoses and exposed wires. Rather than a sleek “Star Wars” style robot, this one looks more like something that would be used for hazardous work or mining. The look should be similar to the “loader suit” from the “Aliens” films, as seen here http://home.earthlink.net/~phxcmd/im...owerLoader.gif but without the area for the driver and only about 7’ tall. Where the head should be is a large monitor screen. The screen is blank.

Panel 2. Slight close up of robot with shot tightening on monitor. The monitor’s screen is filled with static.

Panel 3. Shot gets closer. On screen is the image of a building engulfed in flames. This is a news feed.

News Reader (Voice Over): 400 feared dead, many more wounded. A sad day for our nation.

Panel 4. Tight close up of monitor. We see an image of a smiling man wearing a suit.

News Reader (Voice Over): Responsible for the death and mutilation of 47 children.

Panel 5. Back to tight shot of robot. It has it’s arms out and appears to be rushing forward.

PAGE TWO (3 Panels)

Panel 1. Medium distance shot of robot running down city street. The city looks dead and mechanical. Something like this: http://home.nyc.rr.com/cherold/deskc...derunner1l.jpg. This city is civilization run down to a grinding halt. There are billboards for “McDante’s fast food restaurant, ‘Now featuring Lake of Fire Sauce’” and “Model Citizen’s Jeans. The only jeans with your ID chip right in the label”.

Panel 2. Shot from over robot’s shoulder. We see a row of people in the distance. The people are wearing slacks and dress shirts. Everyone is identical. Sticking through each person’s chest is a hook with a chain that runs upwards. The chain goes all the way to a “sky” that is made of gears and cogs.

Panel 3. The robot is running towards the people, arms outstretched.

PAGE THREE (5 panels)

Panel 1. Side shot of robot clutching a person by the front of the shirt. Person’s face is expressionless.

News Reader (voice over): …roughly the population of France, all dead.

Robot: Look! Look!

Panel 2. Person remains expressionless, oblivious. Robot has let go.

News Reader (voice over): When this will end, no one knows.

Panel 3. Looks around

Panel 4. Robot grabs different person.

Robot: One year ago. Look!

News Reader (voice over): Up next, more war coverage.

Panel 5. Person is expressionless like the first. Robot has head down.

PAGE FOUR (5 panels)

Panel 1.Shot from above looking straight down on robot. Robot is looking up.

Panel 2. Shot from Robot’s point of view. We see a spaceship descending.

Panel 3. The spaceship is on the ground. Robot is standing in front of it. An alien is standing in the doorway.

Panel 4. Alien has tear in his eye as he looks at what has become of Earth.

Panel 5. Alien is looking at robot.

Alien: Come aboard.

PAGE FIVE (5 panels)
Panel 1. Alien and robot are aboard ship.

Alien: They are sick and have destroyed themselves.

Panel 2. The Alien leads Robot onto bridge of ship.

Alien: They died long ago and just don’t know it. Let us end their pain

Panel 3. Robot is standing in front of window on ship. His shoulders are slumped.

Robot: Affirmative.

Panel 4. Close up of alien pressing a button.

Panel 5. Shot from outside ship, looking in through window. We see the robot looking out towards us. In the reflection of the window is the Earth being blown up. On the screen of the Robot’s monitor/face is an image of the Earth whole.
