improve your hatchings/featherings and also your lineweights. :) there should be a dark to light effect on hatchings/featherings..

somewhat, yeah.. if you can see, the hatchings and featherings comes from blacks right, so a stroke of a hatch should be from dark to light as if your making a triangle wherein the tip of the hatch(triangle) is the lightest part and the bottom of it is the darkest part which is next to the blacks.
hope i explained it well. :)
also, yeah, thick and thins vary and depends as to where your source of light is. :)
